Privacy policy.

Neon Mania ("the App") is developed by Lockify Labs ("we", "us"), the studio of Subhodeep Roy, an independent developer based in India. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and the choices you have.

Summary

  • Neon Mania is for players of all ages. On first launch it asks for your year of birth, once, so it can protect younger players. Only an age group is kept, never the year itself.
  • No account is needed, and we never ask for your name, email or contacts.
  • Your game progress, stars, items and settings are stored on your device. If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games, a copy is backed up to your Play Games account so you can restore it on another device.
  • The App shows ads (Google AdMob), measures usage (Google Analytics for Firebase) and reports crashes (Firebase Crashlytics). These Google services collect device and usage data as described below. You can turn usage measurement off in the App.
  • In-app purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
  • Reminders (full lives, Daily Gift, updates) are scheduled on your device; no server is involved and you can turn them off.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Information Stored on Your Device

The following are saved locally on your device:

We do not upload any of this to our own servers. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes it. If you sign in to Google Play Games, your progress, play history, items and rewards are also backed up to your Play Games account (see below); settings and your age group are not.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services

The App uses the following services, all provided by Google. Each collects information automatically when you use the App and processes it under Google's own privacy policy.

Google AdMob (advertising)

AdMob shows ads in the App, including optional rewarded ads you choose to watch for free items. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, it may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address (used to estimate your approximate location), device model, operating system, language, app version and your interactions with ads.

Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the App asks adult players for consent before personalized ads are shown. Where this applies, you can change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad Privacy Settings in the App. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads.

Players under 16 are never shown personalized ads, and their advertising ID is not used. Players under 13 see only ads suitable for children, requested as child-directed from Google Play certified ad networks (see "Children and the Age Question" below).

Google Analytics for Firebase (usage measurement)

Analytics helps us understand how the App is used so we can improve levels and features. It may collect an app instance ID, device model, operating system, approximate location (country and city, estimated from your IP address, which is not stored), app version, session lengths, levels played and how they ended (including the moves and time taken and, for a win, the finished board), items used, rewards claimed, ads watched, purchase events, notifications opened, your in-app settings and your age group. For adult players outside regions that require consent, it may also use the advertising ID. It does not collect your name or email.

Nothing is measured until the age question has been answered, and you can stop it at any time by switching off Settings → Usage Data in the App.

Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)

When the App crashes or hits a serious error, Crashlytics sends a crash report so we can fix the problem. A report contains the error details, device model, operating system, app version, device state at the time of the crash (such as free memory and orientation), the screen and level you were on, and an installation identifier. It also reports errors the App recovers from, such as saved data that could not be read, so we can fix them.

Google Play Games (optional sign-in and cloud save)

You can choose to sign in with Google Play Games from Settings. When you do, the App uses your Play Games player ID and saves a backup of your game progress and items to Play Games Saved Games, so you can continue on another device. This backup is stored by Google in your Play Games account. If you do not sign in, nothing is sent to Play Games.

Google Play Billing (purchases)

Purchases such as item packs, the Starter Pack and Neon Mania Plus are processed entirely by Google Play. Google handles your payment information; we never receive or store it. The App receives only purchase confirmations (product, order ID and purchase status) so it can deliver what you bought and restore one-time purchases such as Neon Mania Plus. Which one-time purchases you own is stored on your device.

Google Play reviews and updates

The App may ask whether you are enjoying it and, if you choose to rate it, uses Google Play's In-App Review to show the rating sheet. The App also uses Google Play's In-App Updates to check whether a newer version is available, when you open it and once a day in the background. Both are handled entirely by Google Play; no game data is sent to us.

Notifications

The App can remind you when your lives are full, when a Daily Gift is waiting, when an update is available, and, for a few weeks after your last visit, that the game is there to come back to. These reminders are scheduled on your device by the App itself: no server is involved, no push token is created and nothing is sent anywhere. They are planned when you leave the game and cancelled when you return. On Android 13 and newer the App asks for permission once, after the first-run tour; you can turn reminders off at any time with Settings → Notifications in the App or in your device's notification settings.

Lockify Labs News

The App downloads a small news file from our website, lockifylabs.com, to show studio news under Settings → More from Lockify Labs. This is a plain download: no information about you or your game is sent with it, beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address, which our host uses only to deliver the file).

Data Sharing

We share information only with the Google services described above, and only for the purposes described there. We do not share it with anyone else, and we do not sell it. If you choose to email us, your message stays between you and us.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not sell your personal information.

How We Use Information

Your Choices

Data Retention and Security

Data on your device stays until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. A Play Games backup stays in your Play Games account until you delete it there. Crash reports are kept by Google for about 90 days. Detailed analytics data is kept for a limited period under the Google Analytics retention setting; after that only aggregated reports remain, which cannot identify you.

All data sent by these services is encrypted in transit. While we take care to protect your information, no software or online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children and the Age Question

Neon Mania is made for players of all ages, including children, and follows the Google Play Families policy. The first time the App opens, it asks the player's year of birth in a neutral way. The App keeps only the resulting age group (under 13, 13–15, or 16 and over) on the device; the year itself is not stored or sent. The question is asked once.

For players under 16, the App:

The App never asks children for their name, email, contacts, photos or location beyond the approximate country and city that Google Analytics estimates, and it has no chat or ways to share information with other players. Usage measurement for children is limited to how the game is played, and a parent can switch it off from Settings → Usage Data.

Parents or guardians who want to review or delete information about their child, or who have any question about their child's privacy, can contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect in the App. This policy is governed by the laws of India.
